Press Cuttings
I thought I’d share some of my press-cuttings; over the years I have amassed and collection of well over 500 cuttings, photographs and ephemera, regarding pavement art and artists.
Some of these have no actual story attached to them, other than the fact that they were published in a newspaper or periodical. Some, but not all, have no credits and were used to break up the newspaper text for aesthetic purposes.
This photo appeared in The Observer Newspaper, UK on Sunday 22nd December 1935 (page 18); a rather nice photo of a pavement artist working on The Victoria Embankment, London. This was a favourite spot for pavement artists in the 1930’s.
Photo is uncredited.
